Would the VAC SYS pump be suitable for use with a vacuum bag?

I am thinking of tackling my first serious veneering project. I have dabbled a bit with veneering before, but just for simple stuff. This time I am asked to resurface an older hutch for Swedish friends of ours. The joints are almost all loose, so I can take it apart first, which makes the job a lot easier. I like taking on the challenge and have warned them upfront I am not really experienced yet when it comes to this type of job.

Now for the question: would the pump of the VAC SYS be up to the job when used with a vacuum bag (sized about 130cm by 250cm)? I have never had the pump running for more than 2 or 3 hours at a time. For this it might have to run a bit longer. Anyone done this before? Do I need special plugs to fit the pump to a vacuum bag?

I don't know if the pump is suitable, but I've used it with a Veenering bag from veneersupplies.com.  I have a 2'x9' bag that I've used for veneering panels and door parts.

In my mind, the pump is meant to run all day when you are clamping things and doesn't have any kind of shut-off like e.g. a Grabo based on the current vacuum, so I wasn't overly abusing it.

If you search the forum, you might be able to find the right connector for the pump side.  I bought an extra hose and attached it to a barb fitting (with a heat gun to help a bit IIRC) to convert to the 3/8" vacuum tubing that Veneer Supplies sells.

Thanks. I found some reference where users of this system claim to have run it for days at an end. So, it seems that won't be a problem.
