Andrea. Have the HML folks also reached out?

I also think it is awesome that you guys incorporated the Apple side of his life.

Thanks for keeping us posted in your time of need.

Cheers. Bryan.

Bryan,

They have, thank you for checking (you obviously knew my dad pretty well!).  We actually are working with Dave Breggin (sp?) to deal with some stuff, and we will be keeping his biggest toy, so I'm going to need to learn to work on it!! I also need a bigger garage....    [eek]

We are going to get HML logins in a week or two.  Honestly, it's just too hard at the moment.

We gathered all the Festool items together with the gracious assistance of a nearby FOG member, and they are in their systainers.  I will sort through them at a later time and decide what will work the best for the jobs I am doing...except for the dust vac....that one may see some fairly immediate use!  All of the portable valuables will be in a protected location, and a buddy of mine will be keeping an eye on the non-portable stuff.

Thanks again for the concern and caring expressed here.  We are overwhelmed by all of the decisions we have to make, and the help we are receiving from friends and family is truly the brightest spot in all of our days.

Andrea

Hey Andrea. I don't think I knew him any better than anyone else here. I did talk to him a few times about our love of big gas guzzling funner-than-heck vehicles. I really enjoyed chatting with your dad. We had a lot of commonalities and I was so happy to meet him and Talk with him on any and all things.  I think about his dedication often and hope that we all are a bit "better " as a result.

Please relive as much as you can and let's catch up when you and your mom are in a better place to do so. We want you to be taken care of at all costs. We miss our friend, but that is nothing compared to a father and husband.

Take care and talk to you soon.

Cheers. Bryan.

I was just sitting in a hotel scrolling thru some treads and spotted this about wow and was very shocked because I just bought some items from Wayne at the beginning of april, the back story here is , after a couple weeks they didn't arrive I just sent him a friendly email inquiring about them after a day or so he got back to me and explained he had been in the hospital twice and hadn't got them out and apologized several times and said he would get them out soon. I told him don't worry about it take care of himself first health was more important. He sent me back thanking me for being understanding and that he did indeed get the items out that day. (The items I got from him was a ets sys and some dts paper),In our earlier emails I told him just throw the paper in the sys, he said the sys was a little dirty and would try to fit the paper in it with out damage, well in true Wow fashion he not only took great care in making sure the paper would not get damaged (wraping them in 20 packs with plastic wrap against a cardboard backer and including the box for them neatly and carefully in the sys) he also looks to have scrubbed the sys before shipping because it looked brand new he wrapped it with so much bubble wrap and even put it in a festool box. I was so impressed with the care he took to make sure I recieved the package in good shape being it was basically just trivial items,it now looks like I recieved the items just few days before his passing. I only included all this to bring into context and backstory of my impression of Wayne because I a sit here reading all the wonderful Things being said about a man who most including myself only knew him as wow the official fog greeter, and it makes me be thankful in my short dealing with him that I was able to interact with him if only by emails and transactions.
And also being a part if just little of this great forum of fog were it seems so many good people are brought together over the love of a tool.

So I would like to give my deepest sympathy to the Wow family, your father, husband and ect. Seemed like great man and will not only be missed by your family he will also be missed by the whole fog community

R.i.p Wayne

Oh no, my condolences to his family.  I haven't been here too long, but I did purchase a carvex from Wow, and he was a great guy to deal with, very nice.  Really sorry to see this!  My deepest sympathies to his family.

I truly hope WOW enjoyed as much of his life as he possibly could. He was a real character.

I've been off the FOG for a while ... devastating to read about this as one of the first threads that caught my eye [sad]

I wish WOW's family well and for only happy and fond memories.

Rest well WOW.

RIP WOW, and condolences to your family.

I think he replied to my very first post with a warm welcome.  He will be missed indeed.

I've been away from the site for a while this is sad news to come back to.
Condolences to his family

Just saw this today. So very sad. Thoughts and prayers go out to the family.

WOW was just a little older than me and we both have decades in the IT industry. Wayne helped a lot of folks here and I don't recall him ever having critical or harsh words. RIP Wayne you will be missed by many.

I have been overseas for a while and thought it was weird that WOW was a inactive member when attempting to PM him. I am truly saddened to have stumbled across this thread. I have never met someone in a forum or online as generous as WOW was. God Bless you WOW and may your family be blessed and supported in their time of need!

Hey everyone,

It's been absolutely crazy around here.  I said I would post a photo of WOW's urn, which everyone mutually agreed was the best urn they'd ever seen, and so here you go.
I am astonished (and a bit dismayed) at the amount of paperwork required when someone passes, so mom and I have been working through that.  I do not plan on selling any of his Festool stuff until winter, when it's so bleeping cold up here I have to stay inside and read manuals anyway.  (I've already decided to keep the Kapax!)  I'm hoping I can bug some of you to find out how to use some of these extremely cool tools.  (So far I am a carpenter, not a cabinet maker, and I do know the difference!)
I will be listing some of the bigger equipment that we have and I know I will not use for sale shortly.  I am hoping I can find it good homes where it will be used to make beautiful things.
Thank you for your support.  I love hearing the stories about my dad.  He did so many cool things, even I don't know about them all!!

I love the urn Andrea!

Thanks for taking the time to share with us.

Very fitting for a man of his stature!  He was well loved In many facets of his life... I am sure he is smiling down on you all.

Cheers. Bryan.

Andrea, I love that urn for your dad.  It's a wonderful tribute to him.  He's probably laughing about that, too.

That Urn is Brilliant!

I'm sad that it has taken Wayne's passing for me to find out how great a man he was outside of his esteemed presence here on the FOG.

Best Wishes to you Andrea.

I'm just now seeing this and I wanted to say that I am so sorry to hear of WOW's passing and want to offer his family my most sincere condolences.  I only messaged him a few times, but you could tell from his actions and words on this board that he was a real class act and a true gentleman.

Add me to the list of people that'll miss wow, I'm appreciative of everything he's done on the forum and I appreciate the First Aid Systainer he made for me and a lot of other people. I was well impressed upon by his eagerness to help others without expecting anything in return. A true class act.

Shocked,

Although i drop in here from time to time, He was the first to comment on my posts, and really did make new members feel welcomed. an asset that will be missed on this forum for sure.

RIP wow
