Every once in a while, I could really use an LS130.  But it's infrequent enough that I really don't want to spend the money, I just make do.

Every time one comes up on ebay, I watch it shoot up to 70 or 75% of new, which is still too much for me.  I just sigh and move on.

But this guy takes the cake.  He just paid $329 for a used LS130.  Yes, that's 93% of the new price.

[huh]

More proof that the subliminiminiminamal  [huh] messaging inside Festool's videos works perfectly.  [wink]

Worse, if you play the video backwards... well, sounds like JMB  [tongue]

(just kidding  [wink])

JMB must be sleeping.  Wait till he sees this in the morning (GMT).

See, Ken, I told you that you up against a bunch of competition.  [big grin]

...but I'm still #1 on Shane's black list! [wink]
(not that I aspire to that, things just work out that way  [big grin])

What do you know!  You're #2 from what I've read the past few weeks.  [big grin]  And don't think some honorary knighthood from Dr. Whatchmacallit from Germany is gonna get you back on the Christmas card list.  [tongue]

Ha, this shows what you know, I was never on the Christmas card list. [big grin]

Hey, I thought I was the one Dr. Whatchmacallit from Germany tapped on the shoulder. [big grin]

I share the same disbelief...  A CT Midi just sold for $370 plus $22.13 shipping on Ebay!  I can't believe how much the used gear goes for.  I cut it off at a certain point too.  At some point, you just need to buy a new one with a full warranty and free shipping. [tongue]

FYI, they paid 90% of the price of a brand new Midi.  I guess they saved about $35.  Not enough of a savings for me to go used, but I ain't hatin.  Maybe they have a balance with Ebay that they can't figure out how to move to their back account, so they spent it despite the high price... [eek]

Just because they won the auction doesnt mean they have to buy it, right?  I'm not very familiar with e-bay, but couldnt they just be a deadbeat and never complete the transaction?

You're right Peter, as a seller your best scenario is that two people get in a bidding war and wind up spending more than they had ever dreamed because of the desire to win the bidding competition.

Bruzze, you might be correct, maybe it would go to the next highest bidder.  Although e-bay has a rating system that tells other buyers and sellers about your reputation and I believe that would mess up your rep.  They do make you confirm that you are ready to spend the money for that amount before you submit your bid.

Overpriced Midi

First off the Midi looked like new.

The person could have lived near by the seller & did not have to pay shipping. That would mean they had a larger savings.

You could be right

I expressed a little more enthusiasm when I thought it was a mini which means they would have paid more than a new one after shipping.  Alas I felt stupid myself when I realized it was only a midi.  [cool]
