Yet another home made boom arm

According to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_file_hosting_services there is no bandwidth limit on SkyDrive. Assuming that is the case, the below is a a public link to the file. I won't guarantee I'll leave it there forever (might need the space!), but it will be there for at least a few weeks to enable those interested to download it.

[EDIT - Seems SkyDrive forces you to log in to access a file over 100MB - will work something for those without SkyDrive accounts, stay tuned...]

[EDIT - SkyDrive link to all the extracted files as picture albums allowing you to browse and download http://sdrv.ms/ZAsQI0 ]

Thank you

You're welcome George. Thank you for posting all the files in the first place so that we can all understand how you put everything together.

Kind regards,

Garry

I that clear now?

I should really make a sketchup drawing, but I'm not very good at it.

I've changed the arm since the first pictures were taken - added tool holder (based on the Festool design). I've made it from a cheapest steel bathroom towel rail I could get.  I'm not sure if it was worth making it - took me over 6 hrs to do it. The bracket was a pain.

BTW.  If you can't get the polyethylene,  any decent hardwood  should be fine.  i tried bamboo, strong enough but I had only 14mm thick boards  and had to glue them. I choose the poly because it is black and looks better on the vac. Also it is very heavy so the base is more stable.  Keep any polyethylene offcuts, no matter how small. Perfect for making washers and spacers.

Finally, few sketchup drawings.

Cheers

Garry

I've made few drawings of the arm.
Do you think you could add them to your Skydrive folder?
Somebody may find them useful.
