sorry meant to get back to this thread but time was too scarce.

here is a link to a home made pocket hole machine . it uses a normal electric drill and a kreg (or similar ) pocket hole jig. a foot lever (or hand lever) clamps the piece and plundges the the drill to drill the pocket .

That is unbelievable! It is one of the best videos I have ever seen. I particularly enjoyed seeing Edinburgh again, as I used to live there but have not returned for 12 years.
