Just two pieces of 5/8" baltic birch ply glued together to build thickness,  then veneered in my vacuum press with rosewwod veneer, cut into three pieces and Dominoed back together.

VW Mick, if you're interested in the vacuum press, I purchased mine from vacupresss.com.  They also sell some great educational DVD's.  Another good source of vacuum press information is the joewoodworker.com site.  The vacuum press is great for curved panels (check out my curvey glass top side table post) and all veneer work.

Steve,
I can't tell in the pic, did you edge band the edges or did you vacuum press veneer there too?

thanks,
CB

The edges were veneered using clamps (not the vacuum press) and baltic birch ply cauls covered with packaging tape to prevent the glue from sticking to them.
