10.8v range?

I love my CXS (although would like to see an updated brushless version), but it's getting to the point where it's just pathetic not to have a range of other 10.8v tools to accompany the CXS.

Where is the multi tool, hammer drill, jigsaw, work light, etc??

There was an excuse a while ago that the odd battery shape that goes inside the handle on the old 1.3ah batteries was to blame. But since this is no more, what's the current excuse?

I'm sure, like me, there is a large contingent of people who ALWAYS have a basic tools kit in the back of their vehicle for those unexpected jobs and the CXS is a staple part of that kit. So why can't we have a few more highly portable tools for those odd jobs that come up to go with it?

Personally, I'm more annoyed at the different connection. If you look at the width of the new(ish) 2.6Ah batteries for the CXS/TXS I feel they probably could have just about stuck with their standard charger connection and therefore not created this issue. .  . With the original slim line batteries it was a bit of a different story, but now they've added that extra width at the base, they probably should have made batteries compatible with the rest of the line . . ??

Having tried both battery version of the CXS (I own the older) I do like the extra power, rpm & battery life of the newer 2.6ah models.

. At only 10.8 volts, I can't see there is a market for Festool to support those tools you mentioned when they already have scarce offerings in the higher voltage tools that are much more popular at 18 volts.
I thought Makita dropped their 10.8v drills and drivers? Yes, no?
12 volts seems to be the lowest voltage platform these days.

I like the CXS as well, but I think waiting is not a smart move.  I'm buying a lot of Milwaukee these days and they just updated some of the 12-volt tools we use the most.

Festool makes nice Sanders, Routers, Tracksaws, and Dust Extractors.  Not loyal to any brand and think the adds with the fake users and tool reviews with the omitted negatives are insulting. 

Milwaukee makes horrible marketing adds also.  Unfortunately, we have to wait for real-world recommendations from suppliers and fellow users.

At least in the UK, Makita is actually *expanding* it's 10.8V product range. The latest is an rotary hammer!

Makita has also expanded their lineup of tools that take the tubular style 12v.

They now have a wet circ saw, recipro saw, jigsaw, and even a stick vacuum for that platform.

I don't think that segment is going away anytime soon. Milwaukee probably has a hundred different tools in that segment. Bosch keeps building their lineup too.  Ryobi and Ridgid have sizable offerings there too.  It should be noted that TTi is the manuf. making all these tools and batteries.
