Of course  I know you are having fun with me!  :D

As you know I have heard it before in a serious way and for guys that just skim the threads I thought I should say something more.

I remember maybe 6 months or a year back a lot of guys would banter back and forth and put up ten posts basically saying nothing at all, I will not name names some of those guys are gone anyway.

To me I do not care if someone post 50 times a day if most of the posts are about something or answering questions or giving their opinions on tools. Or even talking about the number of posts becasue it is forum related. Some guys like me are on the internet all the time because of work so it is simpler to respond and therefore post a lot more. But I think most of my posts are on target, some may offend but usually that creates a buzz and more people post anyway so I do not see it hurting the forum in anyway if I do not get personal, which I do sometimes.

Heck on certain days if I did not post the total daily posts would be half. It may just seem this way, but last year I felt there was a lot more posting going on, this year the posts are a lot more focused though and a lot less irrelevant banter going on. I guess we need both to keep it fun, but it does seem some days there really is not a whole lot going on here, maybe its just a perception.

A lot of people who posted on a regular basis last year have found a new home, u know, that other forum.  The couple of times I've looked in over there, they seem to have a lot more BS'ing going on, which is fine.  And talk about "smiley" abuse, man they like to use those.  ::)  There seems to be more value added posts here, at least for me.

I agree with Steve-CO, mainly the the last sentence.  I haven't spent much time on the other sites due to this fact, the  value of the experience of most of the FOG members.
Also, on one site there seems to be an underlying current - by some - that people who purchase Festool products are snobs and or paid too much for their Festool products.  That is what I read between the lines of what has been posted in the past.

The FOG is a great resource not just for Festool but of the skills of many of the members who actually are trades people who do this for a living and are willing to advise and contribute those skills to  those of us who do this on a secondary level.
