1010 Router fence?

Hey [member=4]John Stevens[/member]...that photo is the Edge Guide and the Fine Adjuster for the 1010.  [eek]

Wow, talk about a step backwards from the 2004 model.  Thanks for the clarification, could be good to know for the future.

Would love a pic of the 1000 model fence.
Wonder if it fits a 1010 and if it can be ordered?

Ya this "fine adjuster" accessory is just by guess and by golly...thus the reason I spent the $$ for the Micro Fence.

I have definitely earned knucklehead of the week for mis-reading and mis-remembering so many times on this thread.  Lemme try to fix the mess I've made.

First, the edge guide for the OF1010 looks to be as good as, or better than the edge guide for the OF 1000.  Below are some pics of the OF 1000 edge guide.  It has no fine-adjust at all.  I hardly ever use it, but it has worked fine for my needs.

Second, I screwed up and somehow confused the edge guid with the guide rail set-up for the OF 1000.  The guide rail kit is what has the lash-free micro-adjuster that is accurate--yes accurate--to 0.1mm.  It's great for any kind of precision grooving you would need to do.  The micro-adjuster can't be used with the edge guide, because it won't clear the work-piece.

Sorry for the confusion I caused with my bad info.  And I should probably even apologize to Festool for saying the newer edge guide was a step backward.  I hope this at least helped by clearing things up.

John - thank you for the info and pics.
Looks like the usage on the guide rail will give accurate adjustments. The MicroFence unit will give the extreme accuracy for the edge guide usage which to me is a more common need.
Hey don't beat yourself up over this. You are far younger than me I believe. You will have these types of memory issues to look forward to far more frequently! At least I sure do.

My 1010 kit came with the

and;

489427

For the first one I then bought fine-adjustment separately;
[attachimg=3]
488754

Which can be used in a poor way on the fence of the 2nd picture as well. However, Festool has a dedicated more usefull product for that;

I find the fence as pictured in the 2nd pic not that handy. I use mostly much smaller bits on small workpieces, so have no use for the big cutout.

If I remember (:s, I even own that thing) right the 1400 has the fine-adjustment build in at the fence and attached (in one buy) for the rail guide.

Having said all that; the pictured microfence looks very nice and more useful.

Hey when you hit my age, this becomes nothing more than a daily aggravation... [tongue]
