I am considering selling my 1080 MFT and purchasing the newer model.

I like the additional height, I'm six foot two so that would be nice, and the miter gauge looks like a nice upgrade.

I'll need to sell the MFT locally, Kansas City or Des Moines, but don't know what it's value would be can you help me with it's value?

New they sold for $460, but are on clearance for $414 though Festool which not everyone would know.

I know that a used price is what the market will bear, and I'd like to get as much as possible. The top only has the small cut at 90 degrees so it's in great shape.

How should  price this for a Craigslist sale?

The shipping would be a nightmare with e-bay, but I could say local pickup only and set a high reserve.

I was recently in the market for a MFT, so I can say I looked a LOT of used MFT 1080 ads.

I've seen several on CL in the $300-350 range, mostly the latter, over the last 2 months (these are CL ads all over the country).
I eventually got mine for $325, but included 1.5 hour drive...each way.

There are several listed, right now, around the US.  But as you say, whatever your local market will bear.

I'm 6'1" and several articles/write-ups online about the 1080 have users putting the legs on 3" counter-bored blocks to raise the height.  That's my plan!

Thanks a lot, so it sounds like starting at $350 and maybe drop it to $325 is fair.

Now I have to decide if the upgrade is worth $225 dollars.

A little more elegant if you have a way to turn them.

Man you should sell those, I would be interested if it raises the height to be the same as the new MFT/3

My floor is so unlevel that I had to put feet on all the stubs in order to level it.

Bill-e, these are awesome. And turning 'em is brilliant.  Did you turn one long 'dowel' and cut it down?  That's my thought.  My basement shop floor looks just like yours (wildy uneven!).

Yea. I happened to have a cherry handle blank I wasnt using so I turned that and then cut them off.

Great idea, Bill.  Being only 5' 8" on a good day 40 years ago, I don't need extra height.  But the idea of wooden inserts each with an adjustable leveling screw pad is a very good one, particularly for anyone who wants to precisely match the height of two or more MFTs.

Thanks but I can't take credit for the idea, I got it from another forum member.

What a great idea, if a guy had a metal lathe, they could make some of these out of aluminum.  I'd think they'd hold up better to mobile use.  Anyone with a metal lathe?

We need someone like Qwas to make them and add them to his list of products, I know I would buy two sets, so that my old 1080 MFT tables match the height of the new MFT3.

He could glue some retreads on them like huaraches and call them Qwas Tired Dogs...
