Hi,

I will be traveling to do work overseas where the voltage is 220V 50HZ, with my Festool US tools.
I do have an industrial 8000 step down transformer so watts are no problem, but the cycle will still be different than in the US.
From my experience with other tools and electronics this works fine, however, I would love to verify there will be no problems.

Thanks [smile]

Shouldn't be a problem except possibly on the Kapex that uses a frequency control.  Best to check with someone like Lester at Festool Service on Monday.

I believe all Festools can handle a 50-60 Hz range, which will cover you in both regions.

Is there a way to configure a Festool router/joiner/saw purchased in the US to draw 220 volts? I have 220 volt power available in my shop and would prefer to use it if thats possible.

I had an email exchange with Dave (I think that is the correct name) - Service Guru for Festool about 6 months ago. I too was concerned about this because of a potential relocation to Europe. I was told its A-OK to use a transformer - the tools have universal motors. If you have a bandsaw on the other hand.... [unsure]
