Hello I have an ETS EC 150/5 and was wondering if it's possible to put 125 mm pads on it? Can the existing pad be swapped out?

I wish I had asked this question before I bought the sander (and am out of the return window) [emoji53]

Ya they're basically the same sander except for 1 or 2 items. If you pull apart the 125 sander, most of the parts have 150 stamped on them.

150 pad vs 125 pad.

[member=44099]Cheese[/member] Have you checked that on a recent ETS EC 125mm?  I just bought one and there are no visible parts that say 150mm.  I know that previous pictures did show at least one part that said 150mm.

I am just saying that with out taking it apart, my recently purchased ETS EC 125mm sander does not have any parts visible under the pad that say 150mm.

I think Festool must have changed this on the most recent run of sanders.

I have not checked a recent model. My ETS EC 125 was one of the first ones offered in the US.

Are you saying that the parts that are shown marked 150 are now marked 125?

Here's a shot of mine.

Mine are not marked at all.  I'll try to take a picture later today.

Mine is the same as Cheese's pics. It is stamped on the inside. The flat sides of the flange are what fit the 150 mm pads.

[member=44099]Cheese[/member] Here's my ETS EC 125mm purchased October, 2017 from ToolNut.

***The 150mm pad does fit on the 125mm ETS EC sander.  However, notice the part on yours that says 150/3?  Mine just says 3.  I checked the other side of the part and it is blank.

Ya, the 150 pad will fit the 125, I’ve been using this combo for the last 2 years. As I mentioned before, they are for all purposes, the same sander.

Only 2 parts are different, the button on the top that states 3 or 5 and the drive shaft/bearing assembly. The rotor, stator and 2 electronic packages are all the same.

That’s it, check out the ekat file.
