Hi:
First time here on FOG. I'm getting ready to cut the opening for a kitchen sink in a
1 and 1/2 inch walnut butcher clock. I plan to use the 300eq jigsaw to cut it out close to the line but then I hope to use the 1400 router to finish the edge. Here's my question...is the 1400 powerful enough with the 1 3/4 hp motor to accomplish this task without bogginh down?

Thanks for any help with this.

Steve

Walnut is soft as butter and cuts so nicely just about any router larger than a laminate router will be just fine for that.

If possible, I would score the cut line to minimize tearout from the router. I'd also use a new cutter for the same reason. I strongly prefer 1/2" shank cutters as they seem to have less vibration and make a smoother cut.
