1400 Report

I fired up my OF1400 today. I am setting up a template to route a cross into the lid of a box. The dust collection on the router is simply amazing. I also have a 1010, but needed to be able to run a 1/2" bit, thus the 1400 purchase. The snap-in template base is a very nice touch.

I looked at the 2200 when I bought the 1400. The 1400 was a compromise, but a nice one.

I have some large projects coming up and I plan to return to buy the 2200 tomorrow. I think the Imperial accessory kit for the 2200 makes a lot of sense.

All kidding aside, you're going to love that OF2200.  It's the 800 pound gorilla in the woodshop.

I didn't like the foot supplied with the 1400 to offset the gap created when routing off the guide rail. I picked up a "small bore sub-base" that is supposed to fill in the gap. Will try it tomorrow.
