15 volt Battery for PSC 420 Carvex Jig Saw?

Hello All

I have several older Festool drill drivers (C15, T1 etc) that all have 15 volt batteries and chargers.  All of these work great.

I would like to add a Festool jig saw to this but I can't see changing over to the 18 volt system.

My research suggests that the Carvex  PSC 420 was first introduced as a 15 volt tool but is now sold as 18 volt.  I also understand that 18 volt platform tools are likely faster / more powefrfull.

QUESTIONS:
1) Has the Carvex design changed since Festool introduced the 18 volt platform?
2) If I buy a new Carvex will it work with the 15 volt batts?  Will performance be compromised?
3) If I go looking for a used Carvex do I need to look for an older one is from the 15 volt era?

Finally if anyone has an older 15 volt Carvex and wants to "upgrade" for some reason I'd be happy to buy it.

Thanks much

Several Festool tools were made as 10.8-14.4 V or 10.8-18 V or 14.4-18 V tools.

Currently, this includes the Carvex PSC/PSBC 420 series (10.8-18 V) and the HKC 55 (14.4-18 V).

Festool (as a policy) does not change operating parameters without an "openly" designated tool revision. A tool which does not have a revision suffix (Carvex cordless ones do not) was not revised since introduction.

Any time you want to be sure, just download and check the operating manual where the supported voltages are listed.
