Hello All,

I'm looking for a 3 horse router to start getting into cabinet making.  I think I will use the router mostly for raised panel doors and dadoe's for shelfs.  I'm thinking really hard on picking up the 2000 e basic for $344.  The 2200 is way out of my price range.

Does anyone use this router for these applications and if so how do you like it?

I don't have a shop and all of my work is performed in the field, i have a router table but i don't think I will use this tool in it.

Thanks,
Aaron

Assuming you are referring to either the OF 1010 or the OF 1400 festoolusa I' recommend you read Brice Burrell's 3 page review with great pictures (like always) on the 1010 Brice Burrell His review of the 1400 is coming soon and also I am eagerly waiting his expertise on this one. I have seen Brice working with the 2200 doing some great work on making a panel door. Try to get in contact with him I'd think he's your man.

Hope this helps.

I use the OF2000 e on a daily basis as it rests under my main router table. I've fitted it with a RouterRaizer, a phenolic plate and an Incra LS fence. The modifications made to the router while converting it for through the base adjustment might void the warranty, but mine is over 3 years old anyway. The only thing I don't like about the OF2000 is the lack of a motor brake, but as it is permanently under the table, it's not as much of a drawback. The OF1400 was the first router I've owned with a motor brake, and it has definitely spoiled me.

i love it and bought several during the refurb program. highly under talked about router. if you need power this thing has it.

Well, i ordered the router on Monday I should have it today or tomorrow.  I'm pretty excited to try my hand at making cabinet doors!
