23G Pin Nailer Recommendations

I'm looking for a 23 gauge pneumatic pin nailer. Main feature I'm looking for above all is for it to be non-marring and have UK avialbility.

The Grex looks good but isn't widely available the UK, also the latest DeWalt looks great but again not available in the UK as yet.

Recommendations?

I’ve got the 18V Makita. As I already used that 18V platform it made sense for me.

It has been very reliable and I love the versatility. Used it just yesterday for some drawer fronts.

I went to buy a 23 ga Senco pinner at a Senco repai/retail shop. The guy told me to get Grex instead because of repair issues. I now have 5 different Grex pinners.

I have two Grex 2” guns, really only because I got them both at very good prices.  Honestly I feel most nail guns do the same thing.  As far as marring goes it depends on the material.  Yes, I have dented soft woods with the P650L (with non-mar tip on) and found that good technique and adjusting pressure is called for to avoid this (I use both air and CO2).  Haven’t tried Grex’s P650LXE which is their latest 23 and supposed to have more power for hardwoods etc.  Never thought the P650L lacked power though.

I brought a Freeman pin nailer on a whim a few years ago. I have been very happy with it. I was surprised at the quality but my use is more of hobby worker.

I've got the Grex P650 whatever model. Its been great, no issues.
I have to agree with another post on the marring issue on some woods. Its not about the gun. Its about technique and air pressure. Turn the psi down a bit and remember you are shooting into poplar instead of oak and gun head dings are rare, at least for me.

I like my Makita cordless, but it does create a slight depression in the wood around the nail.  Fiddling with the depth dial eliminates some but not all of it.  But it is slight enough that I have not found it to be a deal breaker relative to the convenience of having a cordless pin nailer.  It will also not sink 1 3/8" pins all the way in some harder woods btw.

Grex 650L.  The "L" model features a firing lockout when the magazine is nearly empty.  There's nothing fun about thinking you shot a whole row of pins, when you didn't.

Not sure what your application is, but I bought a Senco 21XLP 21ga Micro-Pinner three years ago and my Grex 23 has been parked ever since.
