I have the LR32 kit with a 1400 mm rail.  I am in the process of building some built-ins.  The shelves will be 75" tall and I'm not sure which rail I should purchase.  I am on the fence about buying another 1400mm rail and trying to make a simple jig to let me connect 2-1400mm rails together (Unfortunately, the new end stops are not available in the US, so I'm not totally sure how I could do this).  Or I could purchase the longer 2424mm and not worry about connecting two rails.  Aside from the cost, what are the advantages of purchasing the 2424?  I already a 1900mm for crosscutting 4x8 sheets. TIA

I've had good luck measuring the space between holes to join rails. I'd suggest the 42" LR32 rail to join to your 55" rail.

Are any dealers still stocking the 42" rail?  I can't seem to find it anywhere.  The Festool web site no longer has it listed.

I wonder if they will be on clearance soon.  For the price, the 55" is the better deal in my opinion.

I would seriously doubt that the 1080 LR32 would ever be offered "on clearance".

Thanks for pointing out that I had not delisted that rail, Mr. Wood. (Also, thanks again for the great videos)

I sold the last of those a little while ago and forgot to delist them. The only one I have left is a dented (read bent) one that didn't quite make it from Festool to me. I have a collection of stuff like that. It's harder to get stuff transported in good condition than most people realize.

The 1400mm version is what Festool is touting now. The LR 32 version of that Guide Rail is only a buck more than the one without holes. I think for most people, it's the one to own.

That rail 491-621 has been discontinued, but is still offered at the 10% discount price. It has been replaced with the 55" rail - 496-939. I will  double check my stock on Tuesday, if you happen to be still interested.

I'll be getting the 55" rail instead and patiently wait for the new end stops so I can connect both LR32 rails.  I'll buy the rail towards the end of the month.

Wise choice! ;)
