These stackable Systainers probably are too large for most shops, but the clearly pre-date the ones you see now, and likely were the inspiration for all that followed. Rugged, lockable, stackable, water-resistant, and in a variety of colors.
I'd also be wanting the miniature cranes and forklifts to suit!German design shop "Magazin" sells a smaller version of them suitable for home and office use. Kuno Nüssli, the designer, presented them 2008 at a design fair in Zürich. Magazin developed it further for industrial production and built a whole system around it with various sizes and accessories.

I don’t have a steamer trunk eitherSteamer trunks were the standard for personal transportation whether by ship or rail. My wife has a restored one that we found as she had wanted one since her youth (sadly long gone now, as well as mine)![]()
