4" Hose Adaptor?

I'm trying to design/build a fold-down router table that attaches to a workbench and incorporates the Incra LS. Not quite sure how this will all turn out, but in thinking about dust collection using my Midi, I was trying to figure out how to attach it to the INCRA CleanSweep or something similar. Most of the dust collection stuff I've seen for router tables and planers come with 4" fittings. Can the Festool be used for dust collection on these? And do I need some kind of separator?

As always, thanks!

You should be able to find a 4" to roughly 2" adapter at a place such as Woodcraft. If you are going that route you will be best off going with a  2 1/4" vac hose instead of the Festool D27 hose. You could use either a Festool D50 hose or any regular shop vac hose. A regular shop vac hose will be easier to find the needed adapter for and it will fit into the Midi port with no adapter.

Do you have the Wonder Fence that allows through the fence collection?

One other thing. You will fill Midi bags very quickly from a router table.

Keen products make an excellent attachment for gathering almost all chips from a router table.  I have the Incra wonder fence and utilizing the Dustrouter and the Festool CMC split hose attachments on my self built table and Benchdog lift... even with slotting there is minimal escaping dust.

Thanks guys. Yes, I'm planning on getting LS Super System and am trying to figure out a dust collection system to use, which is why I'm also wondering about something like the Dust Right.

I just bought an Incra table, etc. along with the below table dust box. The dust collection from below the table works very well based on my short time of use and limited use of the table and fence so far. I bought the Wonder Fence with the dust collection port. Something to consider is that the in-fence dust collection only contributes significantly to dust collection when the router bit is buried in the fence. Once it moves outside the fence, which is true for joinery tasks on the table and some others, the under table dust collection is the primary source for collection. I set mine up with a branched 4" and 2"1/4" adapter to connect to my dust Oneida dust collector before I realized that. Mark at Incremental Tools suggested that, for joinery, removal of the Wonder Fence is a good thing to do and, with the under table box, dust collection is still very good. It's just a little more convenient to use just the Pro-Fence. Also, to get the best result from the under table box, you should buy the special table inserts Incra sells which are made with extra openings to create more airflow around the bit.

There are other under table "boxes" available that most likely would work also, General/Excalibur, Rockler (very reasonably priced), and possibly others. You can even make your own, I suppose, which would make it fit just your needs if there is a special application. I've seen videos online about making your own but you need to be careful to make sure that you allow the proper amount of airflow to make sure it actually draws the chips down.

I'd like to hear if a Festool vac would work as well (or maybe even better) than a cyclone dust collector from anyone who may have experience. It would be more convenient and less noisy to use my CT48 for that purpose.

Just a note on the Dustrouter attachment by Keen.  The area under my router top and lift is utilized for storage.  The silicone sleeve that attaches under the throat plate catches 99% of all dust so my router and the accessories stored underneath stay clean without any sort of enclosure needed.  If you use your router in a production setting, this allows your router to stay cooler.
