5mm shelf pins

I have a project coming up where I will be using the LR32 system for boring shelf holes. I am curious to know that the folks here in the states are using for shelf pins for 5mm holes. That which I have perused on the internet so far are 4mm. Links would be greatly appreciated!

You can get pins from McFeelys, Woodcraft, Rockler, etc.

I just use the plain ones from Rockler.

The sleeves result in a professional finished appearance and the flat side of the paddles hold shelves well.

I second Frank's recommendation.  I get those from a local cabinet supply house.  I made a little setting tool, a nut that fits inside the sleeve, two bolts jammed together.  The bolt protrudes out from the nut slightly less than the depth of the sleeve.  A couple of taps with a light hammer and the sleeve is set in the wood, no chance of dings.

Does the 5.5mm sleeve fit OK in the 5mm hole?  Lee Valley says the sleeve outer diameter is 5.5mm.

Thanks for the idea about the setting tool Jay.  I have never had any serious dings when setting them with a small hammer, but there is always the possibility, so I think I will take a stab at making such a setting tool.

No, you need a larger hole to put the sleeve in.  The 5mm designation is for the paddle, the sleeve is larger.

But you have to drill the holes without tearout and to the correct depth because the sleeves don't have a lip to cover any tearout or to act as a stop when setting the sleeves.

Try Hafele (you would need to open an account, which is easy), or CShardware.  They cost pennies each  at Hafele( think it's something like .0173 center per shelf pin, for a 5mm)  Item # 282.04.711 nickel plated, page 129 in hafele catalogue.
