6 Festools in a MAXI systainer

Hi

I got tired of dragging lots of systainers to small and quick jobs. After I got the beltsander BS75 that comes in a maxi my systainer just been sitting on a shelf. Since I've got the sander mounted on the bench-unit in my shop all the time I came up with this use for my Maxi. It's actually waiting for the sixth tool which is a RTS400 but the spot is there for it. The tools inside is:
RO90
PS300
ETS125
OF1010 with accessories
OFK700
"RTS400 to come"

What size Maxi is that?  I have been toying with the same idea as I am trying to work more out of a smaller vehicle.

Though not as large I bet the new Midi Systainers will take three or four tools and maintain the regular stacking.

It's the larger of the two maxis (not Maxi 2). Worth to note is that the router is fully plunged without a bit in it. The jigsaw doesn't have a blade in it when stored in the systainer. In the lid I have fixed a CD box with double sided tape to store paper for the sanders in. The right side is a piece of laminated masonite with a piece of 35x35mm with 8,5 mm holes drilled for the bits. I still have to work on how to fix the accessories to keep them from moving around when I carry the systainer, since the handle is on the front.

I have been thinking of doing this for some time with all of my sanders when I need to take them in the field. Given the release of the midi systainer, I may go that route so it works better into the system!

The suitcase handle approach and turning it on its side when carrying has always been an added thing to think about for me.  You have handled that so darn well!

Thanks for your replies.
Thanks to the position of the handle it's easier to carry the weight then if the handle would be in the lid like ordinary systainers.

For you who are considering the MIDI for a similar approach it might be worth finding out if the extra handle that is available for the T-loc 497856 will fit the MIDI.
My plan if I need to bring more systainer on site is to put the Maxi in the bottom of a stack placed on a (non Festool) trolley/cart. Since it's the heaviest systainer I'm less likely to move it around to much even if it's still possible. I still have to place it on a scale to check the weight, I'll get back on that.

As for the accessories I'm considering Velcro straps stapled to the dividers to keep the bits in place when the systainer is tilted on it side. One of my biggest concerns is to keep the weight down but feel free to come up with ideas.

One day I'm also going to upgrade from the pink kaizen-foam to a more neutral color, but hey it was for free.

It seems like the extra handle works fine for the MIDI aswell.  [smile]
