OK, I admit, I use non Festool tools at times :-)  I consider my TS75 for track use only-  and for fine woodwork...not construction grade work.  Why put wear n tear cutting 2x4's?

So I had a Porter Cable used for construction projects, it finally is at the end of its useful life... It had a top dust port, worked great with Festool Vac... almost as good as TS saws....

I check PC web site to replace it, they no longer make corded circ. saws with dust port...damn it....  so I search for other brands, could not find ANY with dust ports?  One Makita, which is made for fiber board, and masonry, but its priced at $300, not exactly construction grade pricing...

anyone know of one I missed?

Makita and Ridgid both have models, but they're for cutting cement based products and from what I remember they don't have bevel adjustments.  I posted a website recently that makes dust collection attachments for tools.

DustMuzzle.com

I believe Bosch also has something for their saws on their website.

Hi,

I had one of those top port PC saws before Festool. They were popular and were also made for a long time. I bet you could find one in very good condition (with some careful searching)  on E bay.

And for construction / framing type cutting I think a regular sort of circular saw works better too. I have found the Festool saws plunge action does not work well for that.

My Bosch has this ability with the purchase of the parts from them - not expensive.

Well that really blows about the PC saws, no more dust port. I have both the 7 1/4" and the little 6" sawboss. Luckily both still work great. I always thought PC was ahead of the curve adding the dust ports years ago. Still hook mine to either the Fein or CT vac. Dumb decision to remove those dust ports on the new saws. Losing your purchase, mine in the future and probably others.

I'm very surprised to hear this especially with with all the gains dust collection has made in so many other tools (thanks in large part to Festool).

Holz, I hear ya, fully agreed, I will never understand why some companies ruin a great product.....reminds me of the NEW Coke....

Anyway, thx for the tip guys, I went with the Bosch CS10, with Mag. base, not the composite base (CS20), read lots of complaints of it flexing... ordered the dust port attachment.....

what do I need to connect this Festool vac hose?

btw, thx for that link Ken.... for this saw, it seems the Bosch is simple n cheap, and is designed with dust collection.....good enough for rough cutting

but glad I learned of the dust muzzle, somehow that evaded me all these years....  they seem to only fit a few saws though... but good to know if I buy a worm gear saw...

Used new Bosch CS10 today.... as I finish up a bunch of construction grade projects....

Good news, for a construction grade circular saw, its very good...and most importantly, those who loved the PC dust collection system, (which PC has abandoned) the Bosch is even better... (except it does not swivel, exits to rear only, which is good)  and the dust accessory attachment is a perfect fit to the Festool hose, superb....  I would highly recommend it....

I am stingy with my TS75, I hate lending it out to anyone, that is another reason I like to have a decent circular saw...cause lets face it, when people know you have tools.... ahhhh... can I borrow this...that, whatever....
