90* Jig

I had a PM asking about the 90* corner jigs I made some time ago - since then I've made 2 more very similar but smaller jigs that are 200mm x 200mm. These are great for holding cabinet sides at 90* to the horizontal pieces of the cabinet. As long as the board is cut dead square the jig will hold the cabinet dead square and hold it very securely with a couple of clamps per jig. Glue squeeze out can be removed easily as the jig has no corner which also means they can be used on shelves and on the corners of cabinets unlike a lot of commercially available corner clamping jigs, most of which are woefully small and are useless, especially if it's for anything big such as anything furniture sized.

Minutes to make from leftovers and very useful when assembling cabinets, bookcases or anything made from sheet goods with a 90* joint. In all I have 12 of these jigs in 4 different sizes, with the 200x200 pair being the smallest. Whenever I have to assemble anything made of sheet goods on site I always bring a few of these and some clamps to ensure the joints are at 90* and stays there. I can even move the assembled piece while the glue is still drying and it remains at 90*, so with Bessey KR-Revo clamps being used to clamp the whole unit together and the DIY 90* jigs guaranteeing the joints are at 90* = happy clamping.

I like that design for the excavated corners and that they clamp square in two planes.  Nice use of scrap materials too.  Thanks for sharing your design and pictures.

Thanks Bud :>D

Those look different then the last ones you showed.

Why don't you bring them to the BBQ and show them to the guys.

I think they'll really like them.
