Will PRO 5 sander in its current configuration be added to the line of sanders on a permanent basis alongside regular ETS125, or was it produced as a one time tool specifically for promotional purposes?

It was intended as a limited-run tool.

My impression was that the Pro5 is the new ETS125 with a special label, different systainer, and an assortment of paper instead of the dust bag. Is this not accurate?

Had the same impression. Different motor is not a small change. Don't really care for blue systainer, would rather have regular one.

When the promo hit deals sites is when I think it really overwhelmed supply.  Many people on those sites make a lot of extra income, if not a living, just flipping goods bought from deals.

I agree with those that said the promo should have been limited to one per customer if the goal was truly to get more people exposed to the brand.

The Pro 5 is only a limited run tool?  [blink] Is this Festools take on the woodpecker OTT model?

I spent about 4 hours today between my 150/5 EC and a LS130.  I was on the fence about getting the Pro5 and stocking a third paper size, but it looks like the decision has been made for me and I'm glad those who wanted one more than I got one (or two).

If the idea of this promotion was to make the brand more accessible to those not familiar with Festool, I can only think this 3 day promotion that started and stopped on the FOG was more of a reward to already loyal followers.

I haven't used my ETS 125 for years. But I rushed out and bought 10 of these from 10 different dealers, as I don't want to miss out on this great deal!

I'm looking forward to using the vouchers to replace my old metric-scale tools with the new Imperial versions!

. Kidding or serious about the 10 sanders.... [blink]

10? Really?  Me thinks we're teaching Festool to never do this again.  Sad.

I completely agree.  I hope Festool changes this to a one per customer deal.

Looks like one per customer might not work either, as there are many dealers. Perhaps next time promotions like this could be done only directly through festoolusa.com, while voucher redeemable at any dealer.

What promo sites are those? Like Groupon or something? I'm not familiar with what the term. And I really need another way to part with my money...

It's tongue-in cheek guys...Kodi is just like me, he ditched all those outdated/old fashioned metric tools and replaced them with modern imperial versions. Thank God, someone's finally seen the light, and it's so much easier using fractions than decimals, now where was I...hmm, 3/32" equals .093" which equals how many millimeters again?

Nah, they'll just introduce the Pro 6 next week like Apple does with its phones........ [poke] [poke] [poke] [bite tongue] [bite tongue]

Touché... [not worthy] [not worthy]

You know just walking backwards through all of the posts 2 of them really struck me.

Post 85 from Brice: "At the rate these seem to be selling FOG members are going to buy them all up, and there won't any available for new customers." [thumbs up] [thumbs up]

Post 54 from yeti hunter: "How long is this offer available for?  Can I wait until Friday to pre-order?" [sad] [crying]

Whoopsie daisy.

This is right. As far as I know, it's difficult for us to control once dealers have it.

For some reason the FOG doesn't let me post the name of the site...weird.  Pretty well-known site...not like it's some dark corner of the web...

You were close but not exactly on mark Yeti...you did give it the big hurrah, but special limited time offerings from Festool bring with them a very short "pulling the trigger time"...maybe Kodi will part with one of those ten vouchers if you can add good information to his sistering floor joists conundrum...  [big grin]

I was expecting them to sell-out within the first day of pre-orders, to be perfectly honest.  :0

So were you able to lasoo one of these gems or not?

This is a really conflicted arrangement, Festool owners purchasing  a sander they already owned (I'm guilty), contractors hoarding (why wouldn't they...it's their livelihood), and the target audience being abandoned because Festool ran out of product.

Don't worry. The target audience will get their share later from e-bay once the hoarders realise they only have two hands and cant use all ten sanders.

Who, me?  Nope.
I'm not the "new to festool" demographic they were going for, anyway.
I have a few Festool sanders already, just not a 5".
Been thinking about the brushless one after using it and already owning the
brushless 150.  The $99 pricepoint, obviously, swayed me to just pre-order this model at one of my local dealers.  I can't get over there until...erm..today. :0

I'm certainly not upset about it.  Things have unfolded just as I had expected.
There's $99 extra cash toward the Domino in my future vs a $50 voucher.  :0

......orrrr a P1CC (wink Toolnut, wink)  [big grin]
