Hi guys,
Currently im building my new home in the uk, i have 9ft ceilings downstairs, im wondering if you think i should use uk standard 6'6 doors or the older 6'8 size, is it worth it for an extra 60mm?
If i buy tonight i can save myself £500 due to an offer homebase is running.

Thanks.

Don't think it will stop a galloping horse either way.

IMO, the mark of high end, quality and luxury is the thickness of the door not the height. So I'd spend my money on 44mm doors instead of 38mm.

Thanks for the replies, i think im going to stick with 6'6 and add glass top lights on the lounge entrance doors, as dean pointed out the taller doors are the older sizes which are also different widths, more trouble than its worth i think for 60mm extra in height.

I'm 6'5 and with shoes on that adds a 1in.  Tall people definitely will notice the difference.  I would go with the taller doors.  In the US a standard door is 6'8.

More choice of 6'6" doors. Take a look through a catalogue (Howdens is an OK place to start but ignore the prices as they even offer discount to the pigeons that fly past) and make sure you can find something you like in that size.
