I forgot to mention...
I did not test the Trend ear defenders.
The 3M ear defenders, attached to the Versaflo, are excellent. They are comfortable, efficient and add very little extra weight to the head gear.
I have attached a picture of my Versaflo when not in use - fully connected and ready for action.
