I saw a link to this project on Festool's Facebook page and after watching all of the videos thought some of you might be interested.  It is not my project.  The woodworker is a member here but has not posted nor have they been active since early in 2015.

Here is the link:

Fantastic looking.

The steel straps  on the underside  across the grain.  Won't they  resist  the  natural  movement  of  the cherry  and cause  warping and splitting?

I agree, I'm worried, not only with the steel straps but with the leg/apron assembly against the table top.  I'd love to know how it holds up over time.

It is an ingenious way of installing the inlay.  When I first saw them installing the top in the first video, I was amazed at how it fit together like a puzzle.  Here's. A video showing how he fabricated a template to cut the inlay dados using some mdf.  It makes the inlay fit like a glove but also fixes any initial gaps between the table top and leg assemblies.

Thanks for posting, Peter!  I learned something new.
