A couple of timelapses I filmed of us sanding floors

I just see a big black rectangle but no video plays?

Hmmm, working from my end.  You might need to be signed into FB for it to work.  Anybody else able to or not able to see vids?

That might explain it. I don't 'do' fb so I can't see it. Oh well...

Worked fine here, on FOG using TapTalk on an iPad.

Nice job, that dust collection must really work.  Good time lapse as well, get the whole job done in 20 sec.

Didn't realize it was 'flash' which I have blocked. I unblocked it and was able to see it just fine.

You guys do nice work, but BOY do you work FAST!

[big grin]

Loved all the help from the dog. How'd you keep him off the wet finish?

Thanks guys. My requests for the dog to be locked up went from "it would be better if he..." to "he needs to be..." to "he MUST be locked up somewhere else or we can't continue!"

LOL.
Nice job on the time lapse, those floors look great when there are done. Would have liked it slowed down a bit in parts.

Thanks Tim-  I'm still experimenting.  I filmed both of those with my GoPro, 30s intervals, then made the video at 75% speed.  I think I may try the next one at 15s intervals and/or slow it down to 50-60%.

I think if you can keep the speed and then go to live and explain the step and then go back into time lapse it would be good, but obviously more work and time when you are on a deadline.
Tim

Way too fast for my taste to condence an entire floor into 41 seconds, you can not see what's done. Make it 4 minutes and people get an idea.

Thanks for sharing those videos!  You do really nice work.

Seeing the equipment you use brought to mind a question.  It looks like you are using a drum sander.  Have you ever used one of the U-Sand units with the 4 ROS pads?

Thanks, Mike A.

This may be a stupid question but can you do that to engineered hardwood flooring?

Some engineered floors can be resanded.  It all depends on how thick the veneer is.  I have seen some top layers as little as 1mm and some really nice engineered has as much as 6mm

U-sands are aimed more at the rental market.  They are used by some pros, but usually not til after the initial drum sanding.  I tried one a couple of times and wasn't particularly impressed.  Very easy to use for a novice tho.
