A Domino D14 cutter for stone / solid surface material

I'm looking at the new D14 connectors and thinking that they've be a really cool way to connect solid surface bench tops.

Am I alone in thinking this?

 
Interesting idea. But I wonder if the expansive force that bites into timber would just crack the material?

You wouldn't use it for corner connection, only flat.

[member=41214]Phil Beckley[/member] agree you'd need to be gentle and be very even as you torque the connectors for the mating faces. The cutter action of the Domino may also be too much of a challenge for a solid surface cutting bit design. Then there's the question of the thickness of the top, etc.

But if all of the problems could be overcome, it would make the job super fast and easy.
