A few ideas that would work for systainers too

"Exterior grade birch ply is only a couple of pounds more than cheap plywood...". HA! nearly fell off my chair at that one!!!

Is Alan (the presenter) working for Bosch now? He used to be at Mafell.

Me too lol what planet is he on [emoji3]

i think having the 2 parts hinged like that would make it very cumbersome in a workshop.

it would be good like that in a garage that  shares a car. everything would be hidden away . I would definitely hinge it in a way that allowed it to have access to the tools from the outside

why didn't he use dust extraction.

You would need a lot of room just to open and close something that large.  And it would be a chore to load it in a van or truck if using it on site somewhere.

Did you notice the drill charger?  It works like a hotplate.  Just set the drill on top of the charger and it charges.  No need to remove the battery from the drill.

Sonicare electric toothbrush  charges like that.

I think Alan works for both Mafell and Bosch I have seen videos from him with products from both companies... The Bosch tracksaw is actually a Mafell design so there could actually be a lot of interaction between the companies.

I agree with the comment about the hinge design, i guess that you could refrain from laughing when you have hauled a heavy sheet of plywood on the 'worktop' only to realize that you forgot to get the tracksaw...

It is interesting to note though that Bosch is really trying to catch up with Festool in terms of the system thinking. They have a long way to go though....

Rather than use hinges some sort of toggle clasp like on flight cases would allow you to unclip both ends. Then you could spin them back to back and re clip so all drawers face out .

I can't see something like that being used on site and it is not a design that I would favour in a workshop.

I think its a case of the dollar is king... not seen such a useless bit of kit in a long time you would get laughed off site if u turned up with that thing full of learner boxes [big grin] I mean l boxes [wink]

The Bosch L-BOXX is also a PoS.

Worst stacking box ever. Won't sit flat stacked unless you clip them together, which you almost never actually want to do, and doesn't sit on a shelf on its end very well due to loads of nodules and nubs sticking out all over the place.

I have some shallow shelves that most things will sit on happily, not the L-BOXXs though. Oh no.

Very true.  I have two and hate them.

Lol it wouldn't even cross my mind to take that on site. You'd need a bloody lorry to move it lol

And it looks like the drawers aren't even deep enough to open the boxxes while still on the shelf

it all depends on where you work, mine is half my barricade, at the end of day just roll it back on the elevator for storage, also true we have a 20' truck with lift gate for transport. loaded down its quite heavy

Did you copy his idea, did he copy yours, did you each copy another design or did you just come up with it without any external influence?
