I have learned the truest meaning of a word from our UK friends - gobsmacked.
Last Friday I came home early to the wonderful surprise of having two freshly washed Golden Retrievers. My wife was so excited that MacGyver had instantly jumped into the tub as soon as he knew it was bath time. He then ran around as only a wet dog can. By Saturday morning he was in the hospital. I cooked special meals for him starting on Monday and unfortunately nothing would stay down.
Now he is no longer with us. Hopefully he is in a better place and has a little boy to call master. Hopefully he will continue to share his unconditional love and concern. He did not suffer and we spent every minute we could with him.
His life was chronicled here but unfortunately most of the images were lost. He endured the Fogtainer project and made several cameo appearances. He sat on my lap and helped moderate at a time when moderation was more frequent. He was there to take care of me when I was sick. He loved Festool green.
If he was sitting on my lap right now he would be typing, or urging me to type the following:
1. Life is short and unpredictable - don't put off things
2. Strive to make someone's life a little better tomorrow
3. Don't pee in public unless you are a dog.
He has an account here on the FOG. I set it up as a testing account and nothing has ever been posted thru it. I am sure that I will get responses in this thread and I would appreciate you tagging [member=58907]FOGdog[/member] in your posts. I will deactivate it soon.
I can't do anything more for him now. But I can share an image from this morning that I hope will project his teaching skills. He had someone in training. Let your good deeds lead.
