A question for anyone who deals with "exotic" color changing woods

A number of years ago I installed a Tigerwood floor in my house.  Unfortunately some time ago I had a water leak that caused damage.  I need to replace a portion of the floor and was wondering if the remainder of the floor was sanded after I installed the patched areas would it be likely that the new and old would match.  I am also wondering because of the large area rug in the living room.

For those who are not familiar with tigerwood, it starts out very yellow and black and then over time mellows to a reddish golden.

not sure about tigerwood, but I have a cherry floor in two rooms installed several years apart. For a while the difference was noticeable but it evened out over time.

If you sand it, it should all match up.

It will certainly be closer in color, but just as with any wood, there are variations in species, where the trees were harvested, variations from one tree to another, etc.

I think it will be your best option.
