A Real Shocking Problem

Literally, I have a shocking problem.  Running a Dewalt ROS connected to my new CT36 w/27mm anti-static hose. Almost everytime i touch the hose while sanding I get zapped.  I like to hold onto the hose connector while sanding, but as soon as I move my hand onto the hose proper I get zapped.  Anyone else experience this??

The static is almost always caused by air moving through the hose, not the tool (assuming you aren't getting shocked touching the sander if there is metal on it).  The anti-static hose will safely conduct this static through the hose, to the vac, and too the grounded outlet, again assuming it is in deed grounded.

You can try plugging the vac into another grounded circuit and see if the issue persists.

Brice-  Thanks for leading me down the ground route.  I checked the outlet and it was grounded, but the power strip plugged into the outlet was faulty and not grounded.

Glad you got it sorted. [thumbs up]
