A systainer to replace my tool box

Hi guys,

I'm French and I'm new here so I'll try my best and sorry, English isn't my mother tongue.  [embarassed]

So basically, so far my tool box looks like a bit FisherPrice-ish and worst of all, all tools get mixed up if the tool box gets tilted. Did I say the top screws compartment are not THAT secure...you know what I mean... [eek]

I'm looking for a Systainer from Tanos that would replace this piece of junk above mentionned.
So far, I'm thinking of a Systainer T-Loc II or III with large drawers, or something different like the Syst Storage-Box (with a old fashion feel  [tongue]) but my only concern is the NON collapsible handle which is a bit of a deal breaker... [crying]

My tools would be:

8 x screwdrivers
Approx 3 x misc wrenches
Small ratchet with 3 bits
Hammer
600 mm spirit level (won't fit in ANY systainer I'm afraid).
Duct tape
1 x vise grip
Goggles + dust mask
Multimeter

Any ideas / input would be more than welcome.
Thanks guys !

[thanks] [thanks]

Bonjour
Mon français n'est pas bon.
Je porte une boîte à outils chaque jour dans mon camion de travail.
J'ai choisi le Sys-Storageet inclus un marteau.
Le nouveau est plus petite que mon ancienne.

[scared]

And I thought I was meticulous, now I feel like I'm a slob with my tools. This box puts me to shame. I've never seen this level of neatness in a toolbox before.

Good tools too, Craftsman pro, Channel Lock, Proto, etc.

Thanks Sign Guy, pretty good French indeed !
Seems like the Syst Storage-Box isn't so bad too ?

What do you guys reckon regarding this "specific" storage box from Festool ?

hemdale,

You English is excellent, spelling and grammar better than a lot of posts I see on many forums I follow.  Now I cannot understand that Sign Guy from East Peoria, but he sure is a pro when it comes to organizing tools.  [smile]

I've been considering some cantilever tool boxes but most of them are made of metal, hence quite heavy (at least 5 kgs empty).
Seems the SYS-StorageBox is only 2,5 kgs !!

Hi guys and happy new year to you all ! All the best for 2015 !!

Thought I would give you a quick heads up on this topic, I finally got this:

ToughBuilt 20" which is light enough when empty and not too heavy when fully loaded...
I still like the cantilever box from Festool. We'll see if I may need one at some point in a not too distant future.

[wink]

Just thought I would put up a shot of how I have arranged mine.  Still have to refine it a bit more but I'm getting there.  This is all in a Sys 2.

I put in a ply base and screwed the spare storage boxes to it.  Will likely create a better division system when I get some time. But for now it works well. The screwdriver rack needs more attention as well.

It's a bit late, but maybe this will be useful for future reference. I've been using a Sys 2 with a generic tool tray and 3-sided tool lid for several years. It's worked very well for me.

The Toughbuilt looks like a very nice bag. I used to use something similar (but not as nice), but I finally decided that everything had to go in Systainers. Now, for every non-Festool tool I buy, I have to add the cost of a Systainer.  :P  But, I don't waste any more time trying to find a place for everything in the truck.  :)

Interesting to see people using a sys 2 but no hammer in the mix . I use a sys 2 for my hand tools and have managed to get my estwing in as well , so far in excess of 30 items but still messing with the layout as there is wasted space and I want to get a few more items in .But not too heavy .

If you look at my second picture, you can see a French-style one pound hammer in there.
