Does Festool offer abrasive assortment packs for the sanders?  I recently acquired the ro 150 and the ro 90 is on the way.  The closest store to me only carries the contractor packs.  Us little people, don't want to drop that kind of money on the paper for one project. So is there a solution in the worksame or available?

Festool does not.  However some dealers will make up a package.  You might want to contact Bob Marino.

I find it particularly annoying that the higher grits are only available in packs of 50 or 100. You simply cannot get fine grit papers without buying 50 or 100. If you want to progress through grits on one project, and you want to stick with Festool papers, that means you'd have to buy lots of boxes of paper when you may only need a few sheets from each box. I know Platin 2 is available in boxes of 15 or something like that - but even that is terribly expensive. I'd like to get boxes of 10 of Granat in grits in the 400 to 1000 range.

Sometimes I buy 150mm round papers from other brands, lay an old Festool paper on top, and use a hole punch to cut out the extra holes. For very fine stuff (such as wet-and-dry) I just buy single large sheets from a hardware store, cut out circles (using a Festool paper as a template) and then double-sided-tape them to the old Festool paper so you can stick them to the sander.

But I'd rather be able to buy boxes of 10 of the Festool papers.

[member=5]Bob Marino[/member] sells 10 packs.  There are a few dealers who might be able to do full assortment packs as well.  Check out this thread and scroll through:

I have been doing the 10 pack selections for a few years now - but only for the 6", 5" and RO 90 - both round and Delta.
I do have Platin's available in combo boxes of 15 (5 different grits, 3 each) as well as 3 packs.
My goal is to have 10 packs available for ALL the sanders by next month.

I feel the pain. The consumables get expensive when you get  a 50 pack of 5 different grits. But your set for a while. I think I'm well stocked with 40, 80,100, 120, 180 and 220... It's easy to spend $200 on sandpaper.

Yeah, it’s the first purchase that hurts & once time lets fade your memory, all is fine.

The Mirka stuff (screens) comes in assortment packs, but for the courser grits using papers might be better especially in RO mode.

It's not as good as Granat.  I would consider it the same as brilliant 2.  It's a good paper and the holes match perfectly.  I have used it with my ro150req and my ro90 with no issues.  [member=37411]Edward A Reno III[/member]

If you live in Canada, this is the best package I've found (note that the picture of the systainer on the web site is the wrong one):http://festoolshop.ca/497690GR
