wow jmb thats a bad week.
about 3 weeks ago a big heavy steel gate (30 ft x 8ft high and all 4" steel box with all steel vertical bars)  fell onto a a worker on the site i was on.
luckily there was a pallet of cement in the way so he was only hit by the gate  and not skwashed under it. he would have been killed. it took 2 forklifts to lift it up again.

sorry to hear about you too dave.

I wish I could get a sawstop, they need to hurry up on the job site version. Funny thing is today I was at the Toolnut for woodfest and sawstop was there. Before all the sawstop demos started, they made sure to use me as an example. And I was able to keep a blade with the mechanism that stops it as a memento.

My son fired off my Sawstop this week and he hasn't a scratch. Very thankful for that machine even if it cost $ when it happens.

What does it cost to get the saw back running again after it goes off ?  It's an amazing piece of technology.  Just what your needed eh Dave.  To be reminded all day how not to do it  [embarassed]

It takes a cartridge and the saw blade needs to be fixed. I use Forrest blades and they do excellent repair work in these situations. Perhaps $50 US average for the blade fix and $70 US for the cartridge.
