If you are talking about the liner on the underside of the lid, I just made one from 6mm plywood using the paper liner as a template. I didn't even think to look for SketchUp models or search the FOG. I should have known there would be a thread here about this. But since I only needed the one I just traced the Festool lid liner and that worked well.

But if there is a SketchUp model for the lid liner I didn't find it in the 3D Warehouse. No doubt someone here knows where to find it.

Yes, that's right, I'm talking about the liner on the underside of the lid. But to my regret, I didn't have a paper template on the lid :(

I have started getting a few festool systainers and would like to either laser cut, or router cut some inserts out of plywood that fit the bottom of the systainers exactly, but the templates at the top of this thread look like they fit an older design of the systainer.

are there several different designs to the bottom of the systainers?

if there are, what nomenclature do I need to be looking for to identify exactly systainer I have and search for the correct template.

Thanks

Here is one Systainer insert project at Shaper Hub.

The best way to find specific projects there is to use Google search and start the query with the thing you’re looking for and end with the site name.

Like this; “systainer insert shaper hub”

The better results will start with “hub.shapertools.com”

This trick works well for this (FOG) site too. Much better than the cranky old built-in search tool here.

I’ll spend some more time on shaperhub looking, but so far even the Tanos pdfs don’t have the exact bottom outline that mine have.

I think I may have discovered the problem.

There is a file for sys3 that looks like it has the bottom outline of mine.

Am I correct in assuming that the sys3 is a later redesign and as such hasn’t had as many templates put out for it yet?

Thanks, I’ll post pictures if I’m successful in laser cutting an insert.

You could buy a bottom foam to measure / scan and use for a pattern.  They are a pretty close fit. And if you have a Sys gen 3 you can put the foam in and see if you need to make sizing adjustments for a tigher fit.

  Search for ----

      Tanos 83000037 Base foam

I can't find a Festool number. But it is the exact same thing.

Yes. https://hub.shapertools.com/creators/5bcf493945760d0017441fce/shares/61f75f580fda8d001d9b5db5

I forgot that searching for Systainer Insert will give you a lot for that SYS1 box they provide for extra tools.  The link above has grooves routed in for that X pattern bottom, but you can ignore that.

After some searching that’s exactly the one I found, still needed some very minor tweaks.
I cut a couple out of 1/8” ply and some very thin MDF, now I just need to decide how I’m going to support the tools from the base…
