Adirondack chair and foot rest

About 10 years ago, I made my brother and SIL a set of adirondack chairs made out of cypress.  They sat outside at their lake house in Texas heat and cold without any maintenance and the elements finally had their way with them.  It was time for some new ones but this time I used a composite material from Moisture Shield.  Their product has all four sides embossed it made sense to use since many of the parts are exposed on both sides.  It also made it much easier since there was no prep.  It was an almost entirely Festool project with the exception of the router table to use with my pattern boards and then to round them over.  These things are very heavy, much heavier than wood and the material has a 25 year warranty against warpage and cracking  They will fade maybe 10% and should last for decades.  They cost about 2.5 times to make than their wood counterparts but it will be well worth it.  3 chairs and footstool ran about $500 in total material cost outside the new Trion I needed to cut the curves!  [laughing] [laughing]  I had to dig out a Dust Deputy and 5 gallon bucket as I filled up the CT 22 very quickly.  I could have filled up 3-4 bags easily.  The Kapex hose Bob sells worked perfectly between the CT and DD.
My nephew and his wife own a new micro-winery and I built two of them for out there and have been told I could take orders.  Hmmmmmm....

Very nice.  I was thinking about making some out of Trex decking.  Thank you for sharing.  Bill

I looked at using trex as well. What I found was they do not manufacture that material where both sides are embossed. Only the top side and its smooth underneath which I thought would make the chairs look funny.
