I really like using composite decking to make these.  No warping, twisting, knots, fading or cracking.  It did take the composite blade to cut though as this stuff is really hard on normal blades.  They are very heavy and are prepared for relaxation with a glass of wine no matter if you are a righty or lefty!  8)

Very nice! The cut-outs in the arms look like they would hold a bottle too. Never would have though to use composite decking for outdoor furniture. Thanks for sharing!

I would have thought a wine glass. Composite decking gets really hot in the sun. How are these? DO they get too hot?

I haven't heard any complaints.  I used a 35mm forstner bit for the glass cut out and the vecturo for the cutting the slots.  The plunge accessory came in very handy.  I came up with the idea at a winery and seeing people sitting in similar chairs but with no where to put their glasses without the risk of knocking them over.  The material cost for the composite is more than double but after years of building them out of cypress and having people leave them outside in the Texas heat and cold and having them rot out because of lack of maintenance, I sought out a better solution.  The only manufacturer I could find that makes them with wood grain embossed on all sides is MoistureShield.  The nice thing though is there is no waste.  Every board is perfect unless I screw it up.  . It never fails. BTW, they look crooked on the photo but that's because of the fish eye effect on the iPhone camera.  I have to start building some jigs to help speed the assembly process along without always measuring.

How do you finish edges where you have cut or machined the decking?

Not sure about this particular brand but what is the composition of the interior of the boards?

When cut is there an exposed substrate that you must cover or coat to achieve a respectable and weatherproof finish?
