I am making a side table that has a top made of plywood with a maple veneer and edges made of solid walnut as you can see in the image below.  I was going to use my domino to add dominos where I have indicated in red (total of 12) and glue the walnut to the edge of the plywood.  My questions are:
1) is it overkill with all the dominos
2) how should I take into account wood expansion

FYI I am in Northern California which is pretty dry all year round if that helps when thinking about wood expansion and contraction.

Thanks much for suggestions and advice.

The ply shouldn't move much and looks like the frame is relatively narrow so if the wood is dry & aculmated it wont move much either.

If your really concerned let the ply float in the frame.
