the world's biggest parking lot - the M25. Then I need a machete to hack my way through the traffic from the parking lot to Walthamstow.

Don't go on a Friday, traffic is worse. Also leave after 9am
Also.. there are already more than enough matchetes in Walthamstow to go around!!

Try http://routes.tomtom.com to plan you route just before you go, as it will take into account live traffic.. unless of course you have a GPS with inbuilt traffic receiver.

Trust me, my family and I are from near Gatwick, and I have done this route too many times to remember

Thanks for the advice. I have a TomTom but not with the traffic update subscription. The website was somewhat unpredictable. I did a route calculation from my home to Dover for 2am tomorrow morning. I changed the time to "now", that is, rush hour and it was only three minutes longer. That's on the M25 anticlockwise at about 5pm in the afternoon. I don't know what planet TomTom lives on but that can't be right. :o

The M25 has a mind of its own so maybe the timing is valid. I understand the machete surplus in Walthamstow. I will take my own gun, knife, and an introductory guide to bad language. That should see me safely in and out.

I went to the seller's home in London this afternoon and collected the table. It is exactly as described in the auction so I've no disappointments there. The accessories (mitre gauge, etc) were still in their original box and from what I can see have never been used. All in all I'm very pleased with it. It's a heavy puppy for sure but like the tools themselves it exudes quality. I've found the video on YouTube that describes how to setup the table and get the rails square. I have a busy today tomorrow. :)
