Among other reasons to be happy to see the new year, I'll be able to say that I'll (likely) get my Pro 5 this month in just a few hours.  That combined with a planned DTS 400 will come in handy on a lectern that's currently underway.  This creation will be used at my wedding come Halloween time.  Since I'm fairly new to woodworking I just hope it doesn't look like complete crap.  Fortunately there's still plenty of time to work on it.  Does anybody else have projects they're looking forward to, with or without some recently acquired gifts?  Maybe just something you're looking forward to getting with that tax return come spring?  Now that I'm rambling, it's time for bed.  Take care and enjoy the New Year celebrations, which have come and gone for some of you.  We're still about 90 min out here in Iowa.

Happy New Year.

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding.  Keep in mind that you might be only one who notices any minor shortcomings of the lectern.  Most everyone else will be impressed by the idea of getting it done within your schedule.

I am also anxiously awaiting the Pro 5 Ltd arrival.  The dealer previously told me it would arrive in December and now the delivery date has moved to January.  If this works out, then I will most likely put the voucher towards the HK 55 EQ.

Since you are probably on a budget, Ace Tool still has some of the Brilliant 2 125mm sanding discs at closeout prices.  I have not looked for any deals on the DTS 400 abrasives, but I would guess there are deals on the discontinued Brilliant 2 abrasives.

Have fun with the new machines.

I've taken the opportunity of it being the New Year to do a lot of the humdrum maintenance tasks required to keep the shop running in tip top shape, things like cleaning my blades, replacing the sacrificial boards on my sawhorses, shifting the drawer slides on my chaos cabinet to squeeze in one more Sys4, sorting the accumulation of miscellaneous drill bits and screws...

Thanks for the heads up on those.  I might have to check that out.

There is definitely something satisfying about having a clean, fresh work space for creating.
