air compresor in a systainer

i looked at the one at you tube ,,,great ideea ..but i would rather buy one from festool..if it where made.. so go to Shane's post and just ask for it to be built...i changed about 5 compresors in 10 years broken because of transport and not use...please help

I have my Senco trim compressor, 16 ga., 18 ga., 23 ga. guns and 50' of hose in a Sys 5.  Swapped out the lid that came with it for an Attic Lid to store the fastners for all the guns.  Eliminating trips back and forth to the van is very important for me, so now I never have to run back because I needed a different gun, or I don't have the right size nails.

I know Seth has a Systainer with nailers and compressed CO2 cartridges (Seth has a Systainer for everything).  I tried finding the thread, but no luck (it's late... even for me!  [crying])

There was a thread about a compressed air hose reel and later I mentioned the Powertank system; there are others like Kobalt, which I believe Seth prefers due to availability quickly.

I did a detailed blog entry with lots of pictures about the Powertank system here.

If I worked on-site, there's no way I'd bring a compressor unless I needed it for something like spraying.  Nailers?  A CO2 cartridge on your hip is good for 500 nails without the cycling noise, weight, oil, draining...

The Senco compressor will not fit in a Systainer without being modified.  I have this compressor and I love it for small jobs.  The down side is you don't get many shots before the thing cycles and it is fairly loud for being so small.

I really think the idea of putting a compressor in a Systainer is of no real value.  So the compressor is a little easier to take to the job, the problem is all the added time to modify and the extra expense.  No thanks.

I agree but I love the idea cus it keeps my van tidy I can easily stack it on other stystainers and other systainers can be stacked on top of it then.

I have been looking at the airotainer! And der free airnail guns!  But but I did not know that u can't use der airocontainer or your own large compressor to fill the gass bottles!  I had prebena rep who came to my house to demo the prebena gear to me yesterday!  Well he told me 6pounds for refills per bottle! I said it's okay I have a large 100litre compressor ill do it my self for
free lol he said does it kick out 300bar I said no only 10bar lol he said you won't be able to fill the gas bottles your self then lol

DAM it man 300+bar that is silly amount of pressure!  No way would I of know that unless he told me!  He sending me a price for all of it so I might have some new toys lol! I need to see how much bottle refills and nails would cost me compared to my crappy dewalt nail gun which keep jamming up!

The only modification I had to make to my Senco PC1010 was to cut the handle off.  To me, there is alot of value to putting the compressor in a systainer.  Like JMB said, it helps with organization.  Also, in one hand I can carry my 16, 18 and 23 gauge guns, 50' of hose, the compressor and all the nails I need for all the guns.  That adds a lot of value to me.  Time savings and organization.  So for me, it didnt take much time to cut the handle off with a sawzall and the extra expense was a Sys 5.

Just go with the Senco Fusion nail guns. They fit in the sYstainers and you don't need and air compressor, tanks or a way to fill them.  [big grin]

in the uk there isnt a huge choice of small air compressors that run 110v, i have a 6l makita but its miles too big to fit in a sys
