airflow through dust collection shroud of kapex

Hey everyone!
I recently got a Kapex and when booked up to my festool dust extractor i noticed that there is almost no suction through the dust shroud opening.  In fact poking my fingers in there (unplugged of course  [tongue]) there seems to be a piece of plastic that physically blocks it as the arm comes down.

I almost feel like I'm missing something.  dust collection is almost non-existant.  Do I have a defect perhaps?

Plastic left-over from the molding/manufacturing? Maybe a light tap with a wooden dowel and hammer could break it off?

Whatever it's and if it did come from the Festool plant, that made me wonder how or what steps a Kapex went through or was tested before it left the factory. (I also hope that one of the Inside Festool episodes will shed light on the testing of its products.)

Thanks for the tip.  Removed the shround and there was a bunch of debris!
