aligning Kapex

Need advice on aligning Kapex (recent purchase) for a perfectly straight bevel cut. Cutting a 1 by 6 board across for a routine cross cut is perfect and straight across the 6-inch face, as well as dead-on 90 degree to the board's edge.  However, when I tilt the blade to a 45 degree bevel, the cut is no longer straight across the face; rather, it is off by a lot, 1/8 inch or so. Same results whether left or right tilt.  The 45 degree angle is a perfect 45 degrees.  What am I doing wrong???
Thanks.

My best guess is that the saw head is contacting something as you are making the cut. Make certain the fences are pulled back fully. Now check the saw movement while you are NOT making a cut. Do this with the saw unplugged for safeties sake. Insure that you are applying even pressure as you move the saw and that nothing restricts or interferes with the motion of the saw head. I would do all this before you consider an attempt at adjusting the saw!!!

If the saw blade is beveled left 45 degrees, which part of the cut strays 1/8"?  The part furthest from the fence?  And which way does the cut stray?  To the left as well?

My guess is the saw is dialed in correctly and your technique is causing much of the issue.  In the hypothetical above, a tendency to apply downward pressure might cause a slight variation.  I thought I remember Rick explaining this quite well.  I'll see if I can find the post.

Try adjusting your technique a little and see if you notice a difference.
