Okay, I couldn't resist parodying the subject line.

More than a regular square, Magic Square is a tool that I found many years ago when I was just getting into woodworking, and it changed the way I build furniture.  It changed my outlook.  Perhaps a cheesy name, but it's a tool worth considering.

From my blog:

Tolerances and precision in woodworking have been two ideas that I’ve been contemplating for a long time (see A Box Called “Tolerences” and A Box Called “Necessessity”).  That was why Magic Square captured my attention.

This video outlines the benefits of Magic Square (duration – 4:24).

You can order Magic Square here.

This made me laugh...'my confidence goes sky high'.  Ha, I could do with one of these myself!  [big grin]

I know one or two guys, who's work would be greatly improved by one of these... [thumbs up]

Chris, that was quality  [thumbs up]. I wondered what was happening at first when you dropped your plane,,,,,

Really funny  ;D

I REALLY could have used one of these while building my big router table cabinet! Something went seriously wrong during assembly.  :-\ This would have shown me everything worked out just fine and it was just an optical illusion that the cabinet really wasn't square.

Thanks Chris.

Chris, you have a great sense of humor!  Thanks, that really struck me funny.

Regards,

John

Thanks for all the comments!  I'm glad you got a kick out of the video.  I had fun making the video and have grown to appreciate Magic Square (seriously).  I'm even considering making some for sale.

There's a guy near here that sells them, along with the rubber rulers for measuring fish...

Can you keep a secret?  I'm working on a precision flexible straight edge!

Please call me... I want to discuss an exclusive distributorship where the Mounties don't roam.

I wouldn't want to step on Dan's or Lee's feet, of course.

That is on my wish list...awesome!
