I ordered something from Eastwood, an auto body paint and equipment supplier a while back. They wrote that I have not revisited their site for a while and so they are removing my name from their email list. I’m fine with that. I wonder why more vendors don’t do the same.

Hey there,

Looks like it’s been a while since we’ve seen you in the shop. We haven’t heard from you in some time, so we’ll be removing you from our email list.

It’s been great having you as part of the Eastwood community — a crew of DIYers, restorers, and makers who keep projects moving and ideas alive.

If you ever want to reconnect, you can always resubscribe anytime at eastwood.com.

Until then, keep doing what you love.

I wish others would do the same...some of the sites that send me sales information I haven't purchased from them in more than 7-8 years.

Since my exorcism from Eastwood, I have been receiving 3 to 4 emails a day from them. This, perhaps is a marketing form of “conversion therapy”. If it is, it is not working.

Eastwood comes across as a paper tiger. (They do have good deals on finishing equipment though.)

Since you don't 'love' us as much, we're going to stop talking to you. Moments later.... HOW ARE YOU DOING, IT'S BEEN MONTHS AND MONTHS.. NO , SERIOUSLY, HOW ARE YOU..... :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Conversely it can work out pretty good getting offers with a lot of suppliers on a first purchase or when there's long times between purchases.

I will frequently add something to the cart and fill out the form, but then just leave it there.

Usually without fail I get an email same day or next offering a 10-20% discount on my order. Works on Ebay all the time too.

Eastwood has a horrible web site. Their social marketing team also isn't very bright: every Eastwood ad on Instagram has broken links. They leave commenting turned on so the whole list of comments points out how all links are 404s. Searching shows hits, click a hit, slow-loads a page then bounces you down to the reviews. After spending the past 2 days on McMaster-Carr's site and having tried to navigate Eastwood a month ago, the dichotomy is amazing.

That said, I have to go chase down a vendor reselling Eastwood... didn't want to get it from that sketchy site, but now this one is woefuly behind shipping a throatless shear
