Angle Adjustment of TS 55 REBQ

Hi everyone,

I bought a TS 55 REBQ track saw yesterday, and I found there's one critical issue on this saw.

This saw allows from -1 to 47 degree of miter cutting, and either the -1 or the 47 degree are supposed to be reached only when a green nob is pulled out.

When the green nob is not pulled out, the saw should only allow from 0 to 45 degree of adjustment of the saw blade.

However, what I found is, the saw actually stays at -1 degree if I swing the saw most close to the base plate even when the green nob is NOT pulled out, for which, I'd like to have it stay at 0 degree.

This is really a critical issue for me, since in such condition, if I want the saw blade to be perfectly perpendicular to the base of the saw, the only way that I can do is to visually align the arrow with respect to the angle mark, and it's not an easy task for me.

Does this also happen on your TS 55 REBQ?

Thanks in advance for any input.

First, Welcome to the FOG!

Your observation is not a new one.  You should try setting your bevel by tightening the rear knob first without putting any pressure on the base and then tighten the front one.  Then check with a square if this procedure gives you 90 degrees.  Looking at the scale from different angles might seem to indicate different angles, so trust your square.  This has worked for others.

Thanks, Peter.

I'll try the way you said.

Btw, I found lots of threads talking about this issue, I'll see how others did if your method didn't work.

I too got my ts55 and noticed the same issue with slight movement once in the locked position. Can see it causing some problems for accuracy.
I have seen on the web a mod to the base near the front. There's  a little hole you can tap out and screw in a little grub screw and set it once true alignment is achieved. But you won't be able to go the extra + unless you wind in the screw.
