I'm new to the FOG after developing a Festool Problem (within the last two months have purchased a CT36,TS-75, Domino and a Rotex 125.  Now I only need a few ,ore items. On a recent project I had to cut some granite from a counter top to install a new sink and was using my angle grinder with a diamond blade.  Oh how I longed for a Festool Grinder with dust extraction. I taped my hose to the body of the grinder but it just didn't work as well as a German designed beautiful blue and green tool would.  I'm in love with my Festools

welcome to the fog.
proool do one but its NAINA (not availible in north america)
you can buy the schroud part seperate and put it on your own grinder (i think it fits most with the normal guard diameter)

First let me say  [welcome]
That being said you will find this site a wealth of information as you proceed down the slippery slope of Festoys
Enjoy your tools as you have chosen the best

Welcome. Sounds like you could have used RAS 115.  [big grin]

The RAS wouldn't have worked in this application. The dust shroud is in the wrong plane, and the lower rpm is less desirable when cutting.

I don't think Festool will make an angle grinder any time soon. They made one 15 years ago but they discontinued it. Probably because it's not seen as a standard item in a woodworker's tool cabinet. Festool's sister brand Protool makes a grinder with a special hood for dust extraction when cutting tiles, the DSC-AGP 125, but it's not sold in North America.

But you can easily get a dust shroud for your standard grinder.

While that dust shroud looks great for cutting stone, you might want to be careful when using the grinder with shroud for cutting metal.

You are right of course. And that's why that Protool isn't made for metal, but meant for cutting tiles.

[welcome]

Protool do a nice track adaption on their grinder for cutting solid surfaces . I haven't had the need or urge for one yet so I don't know how good they are.
